The crucifixion is a source of glorification of the Lord Jesus

Theme: “The crucifixion is a source of glorification of the Lord Jesus Text: Mark 15:42-47

42. The evening having come, as it was the preparation, that is to say, the eve of the Sabbath, 43. came Joseph of Arimathea, counselor of distinction, who himself also looked forward to the kingdom of God. He dared to go to Pilate, to ask for the body of Jesus. 44. Pilate wondered that he had died so early; summoned the centurion and asked him if he had been dead for a long time. 45. Being assured of this by the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph. 46. And Joseph, having bought a shroud, took Jesus down from the cross, wrapped him in the shroud, and laid him in a rock-hewn sepulchre. Then he rolled a stone at the entrance of the sepulchre. 47. Mary of Magdala, and Mary, mother of Joses, watched where they put him.

Let's remember:

Jesus Christ, son of God and son of Joseph passed through the cross to accomplish the glorious work of saving mankind. On being born into this world, Jesus was welcomed by Joseph his biological Father; on dying he was taken in by Joseph of Arimathea, counselor of distinction, who himself also awaited the kingdom of God. The ends of his life were in the hands of the Josephs. Joseph of Arimathea awaited the kingdom of God; he lived it since he was the main actor in the journey of Christ's resurrection. It was Joseph of Arimathea who had put an end to the sequence of the cross by untying Jesus and placing him in a new sepulchre. The glorification of Jesus on the cross is also explained by the fact that he had given up his spirit to God. He had not died from the pain but had given his breath to the Heavenly Father in order to recover it three days later. When Joseph took down the lifeless body of Jesus, our Lord still bore the reproach of the world. Never mind, He was already under glorification because the most difficult step was behind Him. He had triumphed over sin because he had gone to the cross pure and spotless. It was on the cross that he put on sin and put it off in the sepulchre. As Christ triumphed on the cross, we too are dependent on that same victory. Excellent Saturday. Amen Alain Louz.-
