Theme : “ The Church, Body of Jesus Christ ”
Text : 1 Peter 2:9-12
9. You, on the contrary, you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people acquired, so that you announce the virtues of him who called you from darkness into his marvelous light, 10. you who formerly did not you were not a people, and now are the people of God, you who had not obtained mercy, and now have obtained mercy. 11. Beloved, I urge you, as strangers and travelers on earth, to abstain from carnal lusts that war against the soul. 12. Be good in the midst of the Gentiles, so that even where they slander you as if you were criminals, they will notice your good works, and glorify God in the day he visits them.
Let's remember:
One who is part of the people of God must adopt a new life. His conduct should no longer resemble that of the pagans. It must stand out because it carries an identity of great value; and whose example is required in the middle of this generation. Access to this divine grace must challenge us to respect the sacred: God and His Word. The race of God delights in announcing the virtues of him who has called us from darkness into his wondrous light. The one who is saved must also save others. The Christian is part of the holy nation because the general grouping of Christians forms a nation, a kingdom, a holy people. Can one be a member of the holy people and continue to live in sin? The answer is clear, it is NO. Thus, let us abstain from carnal lusts which make war on the soul. Let's not expose ourselves to the danger of sin because it kills the soul and drives us away from God. On the contrary, let us shine by example in the midst of the disbelievers in order to win them over to the cause of God. Let us be characterized by good works which glorify God. Excellent Sunday.
