Theme: “The Christian, peacemaker” Text: Matthew 10:12-14
12. Entering the house, greet it; 13. and if the house is worthy, may your peace come upon it; but if it is not worthy, may your peace return to you. 14. When they do not receive you or listen to your words, go out of that house or that city and shake off the dust from your feet.
Let's remember:
He who gives peace will not lack it because he has enough for himself before he grants it to others. Peace always returns to the one who provides it. We lose nothing by providing peace to others; on the contrary, we gain additional layers of peace that calm our lives. Give and it will be given to you. The Lord God adds peace to those who extend it to others. When entering any house, greet it. This gesture seems innocuous but it is full of symbolism and content. The greeting marks peace on the day of the person who receives it, without damaging that of the person greeting. A simple greeting has the value of a prayer to God on behalf of the person who receives it. Under other skies, we greet each other by saying shalom which means peace. By greeting the inhabitants of a house, if the house is worthy of it, our peace takes its ease; but if it is not worthy of it, our peace will not be established because it will not find the solid foundations that will support it. Then this peace will return to its former place to find its safe living space. Peace feels threatened when it doesn't know where to put its bags. When the heart of the one for whom we wish peace is not worthy of harboring peace, then this peace wanders for a few moments then quickly returns to its owner. Peace is endowed with a sensitive soul that soothes and soothes the person who wants it and is ready to receive it. A house that lacks room to welcome peace can suffer any kind of rebuke from those who welcome it. This is why a hypocritical greeting is more dangerous than a pair of slaps because it conveys bad intentions. Let us bring peace to all the houses that receive us. Excellent peaceful Friday and good start to the weekend. Amen Alain Louz.-
