Theme: “The Christian, model of maturity in society”
Text: 1 Corinthians 4:11-14
11. Until this hour we suffer hunger, thirst, nakedness; we are mistreated, wandering here and there; 12. we get tired of working with our own hands; reviled, we bless; persecuted we endure; 13. slandered, we speak kindly; we have become like the scum of the world, the scum of all, until now. 14. It is not to shame you that I write these things; but I warn you as my beloved children.
Let's remember:
The place of the Christian in society is sometimes confusing. Every Christian must go through times of turbulence. These are times of testing but also of strengthening to emerge more combative and determined to follow Christ. The Lord Jesus Himself passed by and warned us, saying: “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and 'he follows me' Luke 9:23. Carrying the cross should not be an opportunity to deny Jesus. The weight of the cross should not push us into pagan or retrograde attitudes. It is rather in these moments that we must double our ardor, vigilance, faith, in short we must persevere and remain models in society. We Christians only make the effort to be models in Christian circles in order to be well seen by other friends in the faith. Arriving in our places of service, in our families, in our neighborhoods, in the street, we become true pagans. Now, even when we suffer hunger, thirst, nakedness; Let us remain role models in society. When we are mistreated; wandering here and there; Let us remain role models in society. When we get tired of working with our own hands; insulted, persecuted, slandered; Let us remain role models in society. Being a model means carrying an earthenware vase or an egg while being careful not to break it. Have a great Saturday. Amen
