Theme: “The Christian, model of maturity in society”
Text: Hebrews 5:11-14
11. We have much to say about this, and things that are difficult to explain, because you have become slow to understand. 12. You, in fact, who should have been teachers for a long time, still need to be taught the first rudiments of the oracles of God, you have come to need milk and not solid food. 13. But whoever is milking has not experience of the word of righteousness; because he is a child. 14. But solid food is for mature men, for those whose judgment is exercised by use to discern what is good and what is evil.
Let's remember:
Each member of the body of Christ must help his neighbor to grow in faith in order to achieve the stature of spiritual maturity in Christ. Several channels exist for this, namely: exhortations, moments of collective prayer, individual intercession on behalf of our neighbor, sharing the Word of God, listening to the Word of God in a group or separately , participation in various activities within the community. We must facilitate access to maturity and make each member autonomous in their faith so that they depend only on Christ. We cannot always be clinging to pastors as if without them we are lost. Even at night, in case of a nightmare, we want to call people to pray. We must grow and mature. We must take responsibility for ourselves individually by relying on Christ through his indwelling Spirit. It is very important to help each other, to seek help from other members and even elders, but we must also be able to stand on our own two feet. This is also maturity, the ability to eat solid food with the bones without swallowing them. When we can extract the bones or bones in full bite, that is discernment: the ability to choose the good and reject the evil. However, milk does not require any savvy, it just requires swallowing. Have a great Wednesday. Amen
