Theme : “ The Christian and debts ”
Text : Habakkuk 2:6-7
6. Will he not be for all a subject of sarcasm, Of ridicule and riddles? They will say: Woe to him who accumulates what is not his! Until when?... Woe to him who increases the burden of his debts! 7. Won't your creditors suddenly rise? Won't your oppressors wake up? And you will become their prey.
Let's remember:
The lure of gain redirects us towards the desire to have everything. Lack of humility imprints excesses on our hearts that push us into debt. Pride is a bad companion; it commands our minds to make wishes beyond the measure of reality. It is good to know that the just will live by faith and not by debt. Let us be content with the little we have, without seeking to possess the whole world. By dint of getting into unlimited debt; we will choke on debt. When the creditors stand up, many indebted end up in the Police, the Gendarmerie or the Court for debts contracted and not reimbursed. Do not get into debt out of pride; just to want to prove that we live well. To live beyond one's means is excess, it is pride. Woe to him who accumulates what is not his. Woe to him who increases the burden of his debts. Let's draw a line under the debts and mark a definitive stop. Let's leave greed, avarice because creditors are not altruistic; and they are rarely compassionate. Excellent Friday and good start into the weekend. Amen Alain Louz.-
