The birth of Jesus Christ

Theme : " The birth of Jesus Christ " Text : Matthew 1: 18-21

18. This is how the birth of Jesus Christ happened. Mary, his mother, having been betrothed to Joseph, found herself pregnant, by virtue of the Holy Spirit, before they had lived together. 19. Joseph, her husband, who was a good man and who did not want to defame her, proposed to break up secretly with her. 20. As he thought about it, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, and said, Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take with you Mary your wife, for the child whom she has conceived is from Holy Spirit; 21. She shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus; it is he who will save his people from their sins.

Let us remember:

The birth of Jesus Christ is inscribed in the register of divine mysteries of which he alone possesses the secrets. Never was a man born under such circumstances. This is what makes the difference between ordinary humans and his person. Such a mixture of the divine and the human, with real attributes on both sides, is out of the ordinary. Jesus was born to a mom and dad whose bodies never mated. Joseph is described as a good man; favorable to sanctification, fearing God; without fraud. Mary, for her part, is a worthy virgin full of faith; full of enthusiasm to participate in God's plan for the salvation of mankind. This model couple did not want to expose their disappointment in the public square; he teaches us the lesson of lucidity, temperance, respect, self-control and sobriety. Joseph is that type of man who embarks on God's plan without wondering how his family and those around him will interpret this situation? He trusted God and let Him be in control. It just goes to show that the obedience of a couple can save all of humanity. Shame on us who refuse to follow God's instructions, notwithstanding His directions to guide us.
