Theme: "The benefits of the Word of God"

Text: 2 Timothy 3:14-17

14. But continue in the things which you have learned and have known for certain, knowing from whom you have learned them; 15. and from a child you have known the holy scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17. that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Let us remember:

The Word of God is also called Scripture or the Scriptures. We can also say The Holy Letters. Their benefits for us are numerous, great and varied. Indeed, the Holy Letters are the inexhaustible source of wisdom; true wisdom descending from heaven unlike that of men. Our humanity also has a wisdom that is transmitted from generation to generation. It is based on daily experiences and sometimes on initiations to traditional values. But wisdom is first of all an attribute of God; it is a very special spiritual gift that allows us to discern good from evil. All spiritual gifts cling to wisdom in order to coexist without failure. The Word of God is a source of wisdom for whoever appropriates it. Faith also comes from the Word of God because it comes from what we hear; and what we hear comes from the Word of God. Scripture is God. All Scripture is inspired by God. It finds its essence in the person of God. A Scripture that takes its source outside of God must be proscribed even if it takes off brilliantly; it must be condemned. Let us rather love the Holy Scriptures which are useful for teaching, for convincing, for correcting, for instructing in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete and equipped for every good work. If the Word of God fails to break a heart of rock, it is because the heart blasphemes against the Holy Spirit and refutes the love of God. Mark 3:29 is clear on this point. Let each one let himself be taught by the Scripture. Let us allow ourselves to be convinced by it. Let us also allow ourselves to be corrected and instructed by it in righteousness. These are benefits of the Scripture for us. Excellent Sunday. Amen
