Theme: “ The benefits of family worship ”
Text: John 11:32-34
32. When Mary had come to where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell at his feet, and said to him, Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. 33. Jesus, seeing her weeping, she and the Jews who had come with her, trembled in her spirit, and was greatly moved. 34. And he said: Where did you put it? Lord, they answered him, come and see.
Let's remember:
Spiritual, financial or physical death is quickly noticed everywhere in families where Jesus is absent. When the center of decision-making in a family is not based on Jesus, death is not far away. If Mary, Martha and Lazarus had had intense prayer sessions, their house would not be visited by early and impromptu death. Yes, death would come sooner or later but according to God's plan. Our families live in the shadow of death because Jesus is not where he deserves to be. Instead of him being on the throne of our families, we place him under a bushel, under the table, in a place where he cannot operate effectively. In other families, Jesus is only at the door, in front of the entrance to the house, he knocks but no one opens the door for him. When the winds come, we lose lucidity, we lose faith and trust in God. One forgets to make true prayers of authority which are essential in similar circumstances. Let us learn to intercede with ardor and conviction. Let's teach children how to seek the face of God in troubled times. It is possible that our Lazarus will heal and live by our own prayers; God will answer them. May our homes be places of intensive intercession. Excellent Saturday. Amen Alain Louz.-
