The benefits of family worship

Theme : “ The benefits of family worship Text : Proverbs 4:1-4

1. Hear, my sons, the instruction of a father, And be attentive, to know wisdom; 2. For I give you good advice: Do not reject my teaching. 3. I was a son for my father, A tender and only son with my mother. 4. He instructed me then, and said unto me, Let thy heart retain my words; Observe my precepts, and you will live.

Let's remember:

One of the inheritance models that can be taught in sociology schools; it is that of David and Solomon. To speak of family worship without speaking of David and Solomon would be a serious failing. We would have missed a fine example of witness transmission. David had prepared his son in suitable conditions. For decades, Solomon learned at his father's feet how to rule a kingdom and how to settle problems. David even prayed for Solomon in these terms: 1 Chronicles 22: “11. Now, my son, the Lord be with you, that you may prosper and build the house of the Lord your God, as he said about you! 12. Only the LORD grant you wisdom and understanding, and make you reign over Israel in the observance of the law of the LORD your God. This prayer had been answered by God. We understand why Solomon had only asked God for wisdom, it was one of the instructions of his father David. We can understand that Solomon had been very well trained by his dad during times of family prayer. Excellent Friday and good start into the weekend. Amen Alain Louz.-
