Theme : " The attachment to the current world places us in a state of false security "
Text : Deuteronomy 12:28-31
28. Keep and hear all these things that I command you, that you may be happy, you and your children after you, in perpetuity, doing what is good and what is right in the eyes of the LORD your God . 29. When the LORD your God has destroyed the nations whom you are going to drive out before you, when you have driven them out and settled down in their land, 30. be careful not to be ensnared by imitating them , after they have been destroyed before you. Beware of asking about their gods and saying, How did these nations serve their gods? I too want to do the same. 31. Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God; for they served their gods by doing all the abominations that are odious to the Lord, and they even burned their sons and their daughters with fire to the honor of their gods.
Let's remember:
When we are going to settle in another city, another country or another district; we can see some deviant behavior there. We are forbidden to imitate them. We need to be able to discern the good things from the bad. This often happens when we feel integrated or want to integrate into an environment where we are strangers. We can tend to do like the natives so that they accept us. Let us know how to copy the good things that please God. When it comes to sin, don't copy. Let us protect ourselves from all bad associations which can shake our faith and discredit our covenant with the Lord our God. 1 Corinthians 15:33. "Make no mistake: Bad company corrupts good morals." The world tells us: "When we arrive in an environment where people dance with one foot, you also dance with one foot". But God tells us not to copy things that can harm our faith. Likewise, those who come to us should not influence us negatively. It is up to us to impact wherever we are by leaving a good testimony. Excellent Saturday. Amen Alain Louz.-
