Theme : " Spiritual desires " Text : Psalms 42: 1-6

1. As a doe sighs for streams of water, So my soul sighs for you, O God! 2. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God: When will I go and appear before the face of God? 3. My tears are my food day and night, While I am always told: Where is your God? 4. I remember with effusion of heart When I walked surrounded by the crowd, And I advanced at its head towards the house of God, In the midst of the shouts of joy and the thanksgiving Of a celebrating multitude. 5. Why are you falling down, my soul, and moaning within me? Hope in God, for I will praise him again; He is my salvation and my God. 6. My soul is cast down within me; therefore I am thinking of you, from the land of Jordan, from Hermon, from mount Mitsear.

Let us remember :

A soul with assurance of salvation must long for its Savior. The image of the doe is a powerful illustration. In the doe's living space, there must be water currents or ponds because the doe likes to bathe and she drinks a lot of water. When a doe is thirsty, it goes straight to the water to quench its thirst. She puts all her focus on it and does not take care of anything but going to drink. She sighs after the water currents. A child of God must also express his thirst for God and run to the springs of living waters which never run dry. The Christian must desire God more than anything until he is satisfied with God all his soul and his life. We must not resist spiritual desire but we must let ourselves go towards the flourishing provision of God poured out in his Word. Excellent Sunday. Amen Alain Louz.-
