Spiritual desires

Monday 24 May 2021

Theme : " Spiritual desires " Text : 2 Chronicles 15: 8-15

8. After hearing these words and the prophecy of Obed the prophet, Asa strengthened himself and removed the abominations from all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and from the cities which he had taken in mount Ephraim, and he restored the altar of the Lord which was before the portico of the Lord. 9. And he gathered together all Judah and Benjamin, and those of Ephraim, Manasseh, and Simeon who dwelt among them; for many of the people of Israel joined him when they saw that the LORD his God, was with him. 10. They assembled in Jerusalem in the third month of the fifteenth year of Asa's reign. 11. That day they sacrificed to Jehovah, out of the spoil which they had brought, seven hundred oxen and seven thousand sheep. 12. They made a covenant to seek the LORD God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul; 13. And whoever did not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, male or female. 14. They swore faithfulness to the LORD with a loud voice, with shouts of joy, and with the sound of trumpets and horns; 15. All Judah rejoiced at this oath, for they had sworn with all their heart, and had sought the LORD willingly, and had found him; and the LORD gave them rest on all sides.

Let us remember :

The Lord lets himself be found by those who seek him with all their heart. It all depends on the desire that animates our heart. As long as our desires match the will of God, we can be reassured. God looks at the intentions and desires that flow from them. He strengthens the desires that elevate his Name but he disapproves of all that promotes the cult of the personality. Let us join with those who fear God and want to live his Word. Let us make the Lord our delight and our desires will be spiritual. Let us have healthy desires for peace and joy. God fulfills the desires of those who fear him, he hears their cry and he saves them. The righteous desire the good. It is said, “Trust in the Lord, and do good; Have the country for your abode and faithfulness for your pasture. ” Excellent Whit Monday. Amen Alain Louz.-
