Seek to please the Lord our God

Theme: “Seek to please the Lord our God" Text: Romans 8:5-12

5. Those, indeed, who live according to the flesh, are fond of the things of the flesh, while those who live according to the spirit are fond of the things of the spirit. 6. And the affection of the flesh is death, while the affection of the spirit is life and peace; 7. For the affection of the flesh is enmity against God, because it does not submit to the law of God, nor even can. 8. But those who live according to the flesh cannot please God. 9. For you, you do not live according to the flesh, but according to the spirit, if at least the Spirit of God dwells in you. If someone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to him. 10. And if Christ be in you, the body is indeed dead because of sin, but the spirit is life because of righteousness. 11. And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Christ from the dead will also quicken your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you. 12. So therefore, brethren, we are not indebted to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

Remember:

Let us now take a little of our time to carefully observe what we like. After this observation, everyone will know if he is truly a child of God or if he is ambivalent and perhaps even versatile. Indeed, what God asks of us is not only to go to church to warm the pews. God wants that in addition to this good deed of going to church, we please him with our daily life. We must have a healthy list of our affections, our hobbies, our associations, our aspirations. Our actions and thoughts must adhere to the desires of the Spirit. To please God, He must find in us love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, benignity, faithfulness, gentleness, temperance, sanctification. But those who live according to the flesh do not please God. So let us stop with fornication, impurity, lasciviousness, idolatry, envy, magic, enmities, quarrels, sects, jealousies, animosities, disputes, divisions, drunkenness, table excess. Love to read the Bible and put it into practice. Thus, we will flee from sin and love God. Excellent Thursday. Amen Alain Louz.-
