Theme: “Seek to please the Lord our God" Text: 2 Corinthians 5:3-9

3. if at least we are found clothed and not naked. 4. For while we are in this tent we groan, overwhelmed, because we want, not to strip ourselves, but to put on, that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 5. And the one who formed us for this is God, who gave us the down payment of the Spirit. 6. We are therefore always full of confidence, and we know that by remaining in this body we remain far from the Lord- 7. for we walk by faith and not by sight, 8. we are full of confidence, and we let us prefer to leave this body and remain with the Lord. 9. This is also why we strive to be pleasing to him, whether we remain in this body or leave it.

Let's remember:

The mortal body we drag must put on immortality in Christ in order to join the holy and eternal city. But that will only happen if we are pleasing to God, if we are dedicated and devoted to Him; if we seek to please Him by continually doing His will. We must always be clothed in holiness because sin strips us naked, to our shame. Strong of this, the day of the meeting with the Eternal, for his part, He gave us the down payment of the Spirit; a guarantee of the gifts of the Spirit to lead us into this earthly life which is not already earned. The down payment of the Spirit is the pledge, the assurance that we belong to Him and that He guarantees our earthly stay if we rely on Him God. Thus, God grants us the deposit of the Spirit as a down payment so that nothing more comes to enslave us and possess us, because we are his territory conquered by the sacrificial work of Jesus Christ. This is why, in return, we must please the Lord because we are his people, the flock of his pasture, a holy race, a royal priesthood, a people acquired and conquered. Excellent Wednesday.
