Theme: “Seek the presence of the coming King"
Text: Zechariah 14:1-11
1. Behold, the day of the Lord is coming, and your spoil shall be divided among you. 2. I will gather all the nations to attack Jerusalem; The city will be taken, the houses will be plundered, and the women raped; Half the city will go into captivity, but the rest of the people will not be wiped out of the city. 3. The LORD will appear, and he will fight against these nations, as he fights in the day of battle. 4. His feet shall rest that day on the Mount of Olives, which is opposite Jerusalem on the east side; The Mount of Olives will split in the middle, east and west, and a great valley will be formed: half of the mountain will recede to the north, and half to the south. 5. Then you shall flee into the valley of my mountains, for the valley of the mountains shall extend to Atzel; You will flee as you fled before the earthquake, In the days of Uzziah, king of Judah. And the LORD my God will come, and all his saints with him. 6. In that day there will be no light; There will be cold and ice. 7. It shall be a unique day, known to the LORD, which shall neither be day nor night; But towards evening the light will appear. 8. In that day living waters will flow out of Jerusalem, And will flow half to the eastern sea, and half to the western sea; It will be like this in summer and winter. 9. The Lord shall be king over all the earth; In that day the LORD will be the only LORD, and his name will be the only name. 10. All the land will become like the plain, from Geba to Rimmon, south of Jerusalem; And Jerusalem will be lifted up and remain in its place, From Benjamin's gate to the place of the first gate, to the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel to the king's wine presses. 11. We will live in his bosom, and there will be no more prohibition; Jerusalem will be safe.
Let's remember:
After the judgment of the Antichrist and the Roman beast, "at the last day", Jerusalem will be attacked by several surrounding nations. This attack will be sanctioned by the Lord as it is said in verse 2 “I will gather all the nations to attack Jerusalem; The city will be taken, the houses will be plundered, and the women raped; Half the city will go into captivity, But the rest of the people will not be exterminated from the city”. After this stage, the Lord the Eternal will arise to destroy all these nations which will make the war with Israel. He will scatter them and remove them from before his face in order to bring life, peace and restoration to Israel. This is the day the angels speak of in Acts 1:11-12 as the disciples beheld the ascension of Jesus "This Jesus who was lifted up from you into heaven, in the same way as you saw him going to heaven.” According to each chapter of Zechariah, the Eternal is described in a different form. Here he appears in person to deliver Jerusalem and comes to reign as the Eternal, the God of Israel, surrounded by all his saints. Let us seek the presence of the King who comes. Excellent Saturday.
