Seek the presence of the coming King

Theme : "Seek the presence of the coming King"

Text: Zechariah 11:4-17

4. Thus says the LORD my God: Feed the sheep destined for the slaughter! 5. Those who buy them slaughter them with impunity; He who sells them says: Blessed be the Lord, for I am enriched! And their pastors do not spare them. 6. For I have no more mercy on the inhabitants of the land, saith the LORD; And behold, I deliver men into the hands of one another, and into the hands of their king; They will ravage the land, and I will not deliver them out of their hands. 7. Then I began to feed the sheep destined for the slaughter, certainly the most miserable of the flock. I cost two staffs: I called one Grace, and I called the other Union. And I fed the sheep. 8. I will exterminate the three pastors in one month; my soul was impatient with them, and their soul also had disgust with me. 9. And I say: I will no longer shepherd you! Let the one who is going to die die, let the one who is going to perish perish, and let those who remain devour one another! 10. I took my staff Grace, and broke it, to break my covenant which I had made with all the peoples. 11. It was broken that day; and the unfortunate sheep, who took heed of me, thus recognized that it was the word of the LORD. 12. I say to them: If you find it good, give me my salary; if not, don't give it away. And they weighed for my wages thirty shekels of silver. 13. And the LORD said unto me, Throw it to the potter, that glorious price at which they have esteemed me! And I took the thirty shekels of silver, and cast them into the house of the LORD for the potter. 14. Then I broke my second union rod, to break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel. 15. The LORD said unto me, Take again the crew of a foolish shepherd! 16. For behold, I will raise up in the land a shepherd who will not care for the sheep that perish; he will not go in search of the youngest, he will not heal the wounded, he will not care for the healthy; but he will devour the flesh of the fattest, and he will tear to the horns of their feet. 17. Woe to the shepherd of nothingness, who abandons his sheep! Let the sword fall on his arm and on his right eye! Let his arm wither, And let his right eye go out!

Let's remember:

If we do not seek the presence of the coming King, God will subject us to judgment as he did to Israel, he also did to all those who rule over the people, noble and powerful; he devastated them with fire. This judgment particularly affects the shepherds, the leaders of the people, on whom the wrath of Christ will fall. The prophet Zechariah appears here as a type of Christ, a shepherd who appeared to feed the sheep of the slaughter. It is imperative to follow Jesus Christ in order to escape the butchery and gain access to eternal life. False pastors who disturb the Lord's sheep will be weeded out and thrown out of the fold. If we do not seek the King who is coming, God will allow the people to be decimated. It will take away the little savvy that remains at the point where everyone will ravage his neighbor and chaos will settle for a very long time. While there is time, let us seek the presence of the King who is coming, or God will break the scepter of unity and that of grace. What would we be like if God broke his covenant of grace and unity? Let us hope in the Lord and seek his presence because our King is coming. Excellent Thursday. Amen
