Theme: "Role and responsibility of the Christian in the preservation of biodiversity" Text: Genesis 2:8-15
8. Then the LORD God planted a garden in Eden on the east side, and there he put the man whom he had formed. 9. The LORD God caused trees to grow out of the ground of every kind, pleasant to see and good for food, and the tree of life in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. 10. A river came out of Eden to water the garden, and from there it divided into four arms. 11. The name of the first is Pischon; it is the one that surrounds all the land of Havila, where the gold is. 12. The gold of this country is pure; there is also bdellium and onyx stone. 13. The name of the second river is Gihon; it is that which surrounds the whole country of Cush. 14. The name of the third is Hiddekel; it is that which flows to the east of Assyria. The fourth river is the Euphrates. 15. The LORD God took the man, and placed him in the garden of Eden to tend it and to keep it.
Let's remember:
When the first man set foot on earth, he was not a baby. He was a great made person. He was already trained. Formed by God from the earth. Trained by God to cultivate the land and take care of biodiversity. God gave him all the necessary instructions for the good conservation of his biotope. He was the secondary decision-maker after God who is the main one. No angel is mentioned in this phase of life. That is to say that there was no intermediary between God and man. The Eternal God took the man, and placed him in the garden of Eden to tend it and to keep it. Adam was the first agronomist formed by God to properly perpetuate the cultivation and maintenance of nature. Taking care of biodiversity is the most noble profession because on it depends the life and even the survival of humanity. The training that man received from God showed him how to make the world and its biodiversity live a long time without the occurrence of natural disasters. Even today, we can go back to square one to relearn how to better treat mother earth with its biodiversity. Rivers and rivers, streams and springs, oceans and seas, all this heritage awaits good care from man. Minerals that are overexploited today are not forever. They will end and we will be without wealth. By dint of building highways, we are decimating biodiversity. By dint of buying cars, we are decimating biodiversity. Heat waves are the result of poor stewardship of the earth and its biodiversity. Melting glaciers and harsh winters, not to mention torrential rains would not exist if the land and its biodiversity were well maintained. Biodiversity has a great role in the protection of man. Excellent Sunday. Amen Alain Louz.-
