Theme: "Role and responsibility of the Christian in the preservation of biodiversity" Text: Luke 13:6-9
6. He also told this parable: A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard. He came to look for fruit there, and found none. 7. Then he said to the vinedresser, For three years now I have come to seek fruit from this fig tree, and I find none. Cut it down: why does it occupy the land unnecessarily? 8. The vinedresser answered him, Lord, leave him still this year; I will dig all around and put manure there. 9. Perhaps in the future it will bear fruit; otherwise, you will cut it.
Let's remember:
The role and responsibility of the Christian in the work of preserving biodiversity should not be limited to exploiting the fauna, flora, land, air and water. We have the mission to find solutions when the ecosystem does not have a good growth or a good functioning. It is up to us to solve each problem that arises without creating another one. When the air is polluted, we must find the solution that can clean it up. When the water is not drinkable, it is up to us to make it drinkable by any sort of mechanism. When the soil has not been fallow, we must let it rest for a minimum of two years before exploiting it again. Likewise for non-productive fruit trees, we must maintain them in order to give them a second life or even a third and fourth chance. Avoid all circumstances that can make the soil arid. Let's irrigate water when necessary to water the soil. Do we want to preserve the good natural oxygen, clean air? Let's take care of the flora. Some things to do seem trivial but they are essential at the same time. Let us give new life to our friends, our workplaces and our families by bringing them God who remains the best fertilizer. Allow God to take care of us so that we become productive and efficient. Excellent Saturday. Amen! Alain Louz.-
