Theme: “Return to a way of singing that pleases God and unleashes His power»
Text: Amos 5:21-24
21. I hate, I despise your feasts, I cannot feel your assemblies. 22. When you present burnt offerings and offerings to Me, I take no pleasure in them; And the fattened calves that you sacrifice in thanksgiving, I don't look at them. 23. Remove from me the sound of your hymns; I don't listen to the sound of your lutes. 24. But let righteousness be like a stream of water, And righteousness like a torrent that never dries up.
Let's remember:
For our way of singing to please God, we must be obedient [to God] and to his Word. The singer must be an instrument of glory for the Eternal God. He must be a sacrifice and a priest at the same time. He must offer himself entirely to God as a sweet-smelling perfume. He must offer the praise which is the fruit of his lips but above all the impulse of his heart. When the flesh takes over the Spirit, God stays away from these songs because he has no part in them. He'd rather be away than be near those shows that honor the devil. God hates any song that does not have his approval; the songs where he has no part; songs led by a cantor who is unsubmissive to Him. He says get them away from Him and His house. Until we come back to a way of singing that pleases God; its power will never trigger. This is one of the causes of the disappearance of spectacular gifts within our communities. God does not take pleasure in songs that are sung by unfaithful (unrighteous) people. God tells them to keep these songs away from his presence. Excellent Sunday. Amen Alain Louz.-
