Theme : " Pay your debts, you will make yourself a lever for enrichment " Text : 2 Kings 4: 1-7

1. A woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried to Elisha, saying, Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the LORD; now the creditor has come to take my two children and make them his slaves. 2. Elisha said to him, What can I do for you? Tell me, what do you have at home? She answered, Your maid has nothing in the house at all except a vessel of oil. 3. And he said, Go and ask outside for vessels from all thy neighbors, empty vessels, and ask not for a few. 4. When you return home, you will close the door on yourself and your children; you shall pour into all these vessels, and you shall set aside those which are full. 5. So she left him. She closed the door on her and her children; they offered her the vases, and she poured out. 6. When the vessels were full, she said to her son, Bring me another vessel. But he answered him, There is no more vase. And the oil stopped. 7. She went and told the man of God, and he said, Go and sell the oil, and pay your debt; and you and your children will live on what is left.

Let us remember :

Debts can be fatal to the point of making us slaves to our creditors. During our lifetime, let's pay our debts so as not to put our offspring in difficulty. The majority of creditors are ruthless, they prioritize business and do not use mercy. Death does not shake them. Some cause a scandal in places of mourning, they are impatient to receive their money before the burial of the deceased in debt. Our loving God often makes up for our mistakes by fixing them. God grants us to pay our debts by a miracle of which He alone holds the secret. This is why, let's take the measure of our gain to adapt it to expenses so as not to be saddled with debt. God takes care of the mop up the exceptions that require us to get us into debt. May our debts not put the family at risk. Pay them and we will leverage enrichment to live in peace. Excellent Sunday.
