Theme : " Pay your debts, you will make yourself a lever for enrichment "
Text : Matthew 22: 17-21
17. Tell us therefore what it seems to you: is it lawful or not to pay tribute to Caesar? 18. Jesus, knowing their wickedness, answered: Why are you tempting me, hypocrites? 19. Show me the change with which we pay the tribute. And they presented him with a denarius. 20. He asked them: Whose image and this inscription are? 21. From Caesar, they answered him. Then he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is Gods.
Let us remember :
The Christian should not withhold the tribute which goes to the administrative authorities. We have the obligation to pay our debts on the side of the public administration, the Church, the family, rent and others. Let's learn how to deal with all these burdens without shying away in one way or another. The Lord Jesus recommends us to respect the established authority until we obey it in what it tells us. The state can use its means of repression against those who do not pay their charges. Fines, seizures of property, office closures ... are some of the consequences that run those who delay in paying. In Christian communities, there are also some pressure tactics to push members to pay their due. However, every Christian must pay without pressure because that is obedience. Our faith must produce visible and tangible works. Let us be obedient and pay our debts. Excellent Saturday. Amen Alain Louz.-
