Theme: “Obedience precedes divine blessings»
Text: Genesis 12:1-4
1. The LORD said to Abram, Depart from your country, from your fatherland, and from your father's house, into the land which I will show you. 2. I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a source of blessing. 3. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse those who curse you; and all the families of the earth will be blessed in you. 4. Abram went, as the LORD had told him, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he came out of Haran.
Remember:
The command God gave Abram was to go to Canaan. He had to go without his father and his nephew. But he encumbered himself with those who were not part of God's plan. In his journey, he first stopped at Charan to settle there for a long time. It was half obedience that delayed the onset of his God-promised blessings. There is a trap in life that we can call half obedience which consists in doing part of the will of God without going after the divine thought. When obedience is not complete, the blessing is either absent or partial. As we hesitate to obey, we also slow down the fulfillment of God's promises. To hasten Abram's obedience, God allowed his father to die so that he would step up in obedience and access to his blessings. Do not wait for God to amputate a person before obeying. Excellent Obedience Monday. Amen Alain Louz.-
