Theme: “Lord, teach me to do your will”
Text: Isaiah 30:20-21
20. The Lord will give you bread in trouble, and water in trouble; Those who teach you will no longer hide, But your eyes will see those who teach you. 21. Your ears will hear the voice behind you saying, This is the way, walk in it! Because you would go to the right, or you would go to the left.
Let's remember:
This prophecy of Isaiah announcing the 4th woe is a great turning point which ends on a note full of hope and comfort. After the phase of desolation, the Lord God announces his return to the middle of Jerusalem to dwell there. This is proof that he heard the cry of distress of the people who asked for mercy. The end of the tribulation marks the change desired by God so that the ears of the people now hear his voice which shows them the path to follow. This is an opportunity for the people to do the will of God. When God says to go to the left, he must obey. If you have to go to the right, you have to obey just as much. From then on, life will rest in the hands of God, who alone can decide the path that the people will follow. One of the many lessons to be learned is to understand that life rests in the hands of God. We will have to learn to trust him even with our eyes closed. It is he alone who can decide to interrupt our pain, to remove our aggressors, to shorten our slavery; why not do his will? We have everything to gain by doing His will. Therefore, every child of God must say: Lord, teach me to do your will. Let us not tire of saying it because behind a noble word addressed to God in the form of prayer; there is hidden a divine response bringing back the wish. If our unfaithfulness forces God to punish us, let us be courageous enough to quickly return to the feet of the Lord to do His will. When we have difficulty doing His will, let us say this prayer: Lord, teach me to do Your will. Excellent Friday and good start to the weekend. Amen Alain Louz.-
