Theme: “Lord, teach me to do your will” Text: Psalms 143:8-12
8. Let me hear your goodness in the morning! Because I trust in you. Show me the way I should walk! For I lift up my soul to you. 9. Deliver me from my enemies, O LORD! With you I seek refuge. 10. Teach me to do your will! For you are my God. May your good spirit lead me on the right path! 11. For your name's sake, O LORD, restore me to life. In your righteousness, remove my soul from distress! 12. In your goodness destroy my enemies, And destroy all the oppressors of my soul! For I am your servant.
Let's remember:
Spiritual things are not perceived by relying on the carnal intelligence. The Lord God must open us to his grace in order to better understand the scope of his will. No expert, even the smartest, would be able to decipher a spiritual message except with the help of the divine master. This is why we must pray this prayer: Lord, teach me to do your will. The will of God cannot be improvised; it is learned like a school lesson and Jesus helps us to better understand it; at the same time he evaluates us to see if we are practicing well. It takes our disposition of heart but also our availability on a daily basis. To better receive the teaching of our Lord, we must ask in the morning to hear his goodness. The day must dawn under its auspices. So, with confidence, let us abandon ourselves to Him. He will make known to us the path in which we must walk as we lift up our souls to Him. David said: Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. May your good spirit lead me on the right path. For your name’s sake, O LORD, restore me to life! In your righteousness, remove my soul from distress. It is an aspiration that must fill our hearts. This prayer should be a reference for anyone who wants to approach God to learn to do his will. When his Spirit teaches us to do his will, let us pay attention and remember the lessons to practice them. Have a great Wednesday. Amen Alain Louz.-
