Theme : " Lord, help my unbelief " Text : Matthew 17: 14-21
14. When they had come to the crowd, a man came and fell on his knees before Jesus, and said: 15. Lord, have mercy on my son, who is lunatic, and who suffers cruelly; he often falls into the fire, and often into the water. 16. I brought him to your disciples, and they could not heal him. 17. You unbelieving and perverse race, answered Jesus, how long will I be with you? How long will I put up with you? Bring him here to me. 18. Jesus spoke severely to the devil, which went out from him, and the boy was healed in the very hour. 19. Then the disciples came near to Jesus, and said in particular to him, Why could we not cast out this demon? 20. It is because of your unbelief, Jesus told them. Truly I tell you, if you had faith like a mustard seed, you would say to this mountain: Move from here to then, and it would move; nothing would be impossible for you. 21. But this kind of demon only comes out through prayer and fasting.
Let us remember :
In the comfort of faith and as we walk with Jesus, we must stop being careless and unbelieving. Let us be very rigorous and determined to fast / pray so as not to fail in the face of the most formidable cases which would require a strong consecration. Let's give our full potential, do violence to the end. And when we run out of strength, Jesus will come to the aid of our unbelief. In this text, the disciples had failed because they had not asked their Master for help. In our turn, let us ask for God's help in order to succeed in our work. It's time to leave our comfort zone and get involved individually otherwise the devil will humiliate us to the point of making us fall into fire, and into water. We cannot walk with Jesus, and not call him for help, that is pride, unbelief, or neglect. Excellent Monday. Amen Alain Louz.-
