Looking back prevents progress

Saturday July 8, 2023

Theme: “Looking back prevents progress Text: Proverbs 1:22-32

22. How long, stupid, will you love stupidity? How long will scoffers delight in mockery, And fools hate science? 23. Turn around to listen to my rebukes! Behold, I will pour out my spirit upon you, I will make my words known to you... 24. Since I call and you resist, Since I stretch out my hand and no one heeds, 25. Since you reject all my advice, And that you do not like my reproofs, 26. I too will laugh when you are in misfortune, I will laugh when terror seizes you, 27. When terror seizes you like a storm, And the misfortune will envelop you like a whirlwind, When distress and anguish swoop down on you. 28. Then they will call me, and I will not answer; They will look for me, and they will not find me. 29. Because they hated knowledge, And did not choose to fear the Lord, 30. Because they did not like my advice, And despised all my reproofs , 31. They shall feed on the fruit of their way, And they shall be satisfied with their own counsels, 32. For the resistance of the foolish kills them, And the security of the foolish destroys them;

Let's remember:

Let us avoid falling under the sanction of God. Let us avoid reprimands coming from our Lord because he has long been denouncing our fruitless works but no one takes heed. In his gentleness, our God instructs us to walk under his counsel and to love his wisdom in order to be in the odor of holiness with him. However, each faithful tends to keep his neck stiff. Let's explore science and God's counsel. It is better to be on God's side than not. When everything freezes in front of us, he will be the only one who can rescue us. But if we are on the opposite side, we will only have our tears to weep loudly and without a comforter. By choosing to look in a direction opposite to that decreed by God, we put ourselves in great danger. By continuing to look back endlessly, we are moving away from progress. The truth will never set us free unless we redirect our gaze back to God's side. Looking back will never benefit us, we will sink more and eternal life will no longer be there; because of our infidelities. But if we look ahead and if the counsel of God directs us, we have the guarantee that God will not forsake us, he will not laugh at us, he will not be insensitive to our misfortune. If we remain faithful to God and follow his instructions without looking back, our progress will be tangible and permanent. Excellent Saturday. Amen Alain Louz.-
