Theme: “Live your youth in sanctification»
Text: Genesis 39:7-9
7. After these things it came to pass that his master's wife looked upon Joseph, and said, Lay with me! 8. He refused, and said to his master's wife, Behold, my master does not inquire with me of anything in the house, and he has delivered into my hands all that belongs to him. 9. He is not taller than me in this house, and he has not forbidden me anything, except you, because you are his wife. How could I do such great evil and sin against God?
Let's remember:
Joseph could have judged the solicitation made by his master's wife as the true opportunity of his life. If we do a poll among young people, it is likely that 96% will answer "Yes"; to this request in the hope of winning the heart of this woman; while ignoring the consequences before their conscience, before Potiphar and before God. The wish of the majority of young people is to have a great lady who takes care of their money needs. The lack of judgment and lucidity in the young environment does not help to take responsible actions. The lure of profit could also have a say. However, Joseph was unfazed by this request, despite the hot blood of youth running through his veins; he declined the guilty offer. Let's not blame our youth to justify our wrongdoings; it is possible to act otherwise than to plunge both feet into sin. Out of respect for his master and for God, Joseph fled from sin; he did not fight sin but he fled from it. If our conscience does not accuse us, let us think of God and of Potiphar our neighbour. Excellent Wednesday. Amen Alain Louz.-
