Topic: “Let us test all things for the glory of God”
Text: Matthew 24:23-27
23. Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is Christ,’ or ‘There,’ do not believe it. 24. For there will arise false Christs and false prophets, and will show great signs and wonders, so that, if possible, they will deceive the very elect. 25. Behold, I have told you beforehand. 26. Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, he is in the wilderness;’ do not go out; ‘Look, he is in the closets;’ do not believe it. 27. For as the lightning comes out of the east and shines even to the west, so will also the coming of the Son of Man be.
Let us remember:
The Lord Jesus warns us against the blind consumption of fake news, hoaxes, fake news. If we enjoy listening to anything and everything, we will distort our understanding and our faith will take a fatal blow. If faith comes from what we hear; doubt or skepticism also comes from what we hear. By listening to messages without doctrinal foundation, we will leave our faith to the popular vindictiveness of the devil and his demons. Fake news, false preaching, fallacious exhortations are lies spread with the aim of manipulating or deceiving the public including Christians. The lack of biblical knowledge and the low level of faith if not discernment also contribute to believing in biblical fake news. False preachers play on the emotional state of Christians; thus they pass on their false doctrines of manipulation. If someone tells us that Christ is here, or He is there, let us not believe it. Great wonders and great miracles are not proof of God's presence because the devil also does biased miracles. Let us examine all things before committing ourselves. The devil can seduce even the elect. Nowadays, the gospel abounds everywhere. The media broadcasts content without filters. It is up to us to be careful so as not to be poorly nourished. Let nothing deconstruct the basis of our faith. God draws his glory from those who examine his Word. Excellent Friday and good start to the weekend. Amen
