Theme: “Let Us Prepare the Way of the Lord

Text: Luke 3:1-6

1. In the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judea, Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip being tetrarch of Ituraea and the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias being tetrarch of Abilene, 2. and in the days of Annas and Caiaphas being high priests, the word of God came to John the son of Zechariah in the wilderness. 3. And he went into all the region around Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins, 4. as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet: The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. 5. Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made plain. 6. And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.

Let us remember:

The Lord God wants us to perpetuate our covenant with Him. He wants us to prepare our hearts for His coming. He also wants us to help our neighbor prepare his heart, so that he will not be on the sidelines of the coming of the Lord. This is because God sees that our hearts are crooked, incapable of standing uprightly. We lack constancy. We go here and there, we blow hot and cold. God sees that our behavior is very ambiguous, serving God and betraying Him at the same time by our infidelities. Let us take up the challenge that John the Baptist took up; that of going from city to city, from place to place, preaching the imminent coming of the Lord Jesus. Let us not forget to start with Jerusalem, with ourselves, our own home, our own family, our own city. Let us start talking about it around us, before going far. Let us browse social networks, not to drown ourselves in trivialities, but to announce the good news. May the paths of each heart be smoothed in order to bring them back to the Lord. Let us fill the valleys of sins. Let us lower every height that rises before our ways in front of our lives. Let every mountain, every valley, every stronghold, every argument, and every height that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, be thrown down and let us bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. Let us bring down the mountains and hills of ego so that all flesh may see the salvation of God. Excellent Monday. Amen
