Theme: “Let us examine everything in order to retain what is good for the uplifting of the Church Text: Haggai 1:3-11

3. Wherefore the word of the LORD came unto them through Haggai the prophet, saying: 4. Is it time for you to dwell in your paneled dwellings, When this house is destroyed? 5. Thus now says the LORD of hosts: Consider carefully your ways! 6. You sow much, and you gather little, you eat, and you are not satisfied, you drink, and you are not quenched, you are clothed, and you are not hot; The salary of the one who is hired falls into a pierced bag. 7. Thus says the LORD of hosts: Consider carefully your ways! 8. Go up into the mountain, bring wood, and build the house: I will rejoice, and I will be glorified, saith the LORD. 9. You relied on much, and behold, you had little; You took it home, but I blew it. For what? says the LORD of hosts. Because of my house, which is destroyed, While you each hasten for your house. 10. Therefore the heavens have withheld the dew from you, And the earth has withheld its produce. 11. I called drought on the land, on the mountains, on the wheat, on the new wine, on the oil, on what the earth can yield, on men and on beasts, and on all the work hands.

Let's remember:

It's time to question yourself and take a step back. Let's look in the rearview mirror of our lives to identify the flaws that have damaged our progress. Our journey is strewn with obstacles and a succession of failures whose origins are divine. The Lord expects us to surrender the whole of our hearts to Him for His care and possession. Our infidelities have only brought us sadness and anguish. We sow and here we reap from the wind as if the soils were arid while others are reaping very good harvests. Our God is a just God but jealous of his creature. He does not accept our spiritual flippancy. God wants us to carefully consider our ways. He repeats it several times like verses 5 and 7, this repetition is not insignificant, it reflects his desire to see our situation change imminently. God does not accept that we abandon his work to devote ourselves to ours. We put joy, beauty, life, atmosphere in short we make our homes livable while the work of God is dilapidated, almost in tatters. He warns us about our negligence regarding the management of activities, servants, property, furniture and buildings that belong to him. Even our gifts and ministries are not growing because of our poor stewardship. Let us beautify God's house just as much as we do our own. Let's take care of the souls that come to God. Feed the Lord's flock. Let us build the walls of the presbyteries where necessary. Taking better care of the work of God is synonymous with retaining what is good for the upliftment of the Church. Excellent Wednesday. Amen Alain Louz.-
