Let us examine all things and retain what is pleasing to God in his Church

Friday March 4, 2022

Theme : “ Let us examine all things and retain what is pleasing to God in his Church Text : Colossians 3:1-5

1. If therefore you are raised with Christ, seek the things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. 2. Set your affections on things above, not on things on earth. 3. For you are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4. When Christ, your life, appears, then you will also appear with him in glory. 5. Put therefore to death the members which are on the earth, fornication, impurity, passions, evil desires, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

Let's remember:

What is pleasing to God is what promotes the heavenly life of God in Jesus. Anyone who offers their life to Jesus Christ becomes his disciple. She dies and rises with Jesus. She no longer aspires to earthly things but she sighs after eternal life. Such a person lives on this earth but with deep aspirations of eternity. She continues to think and seek heavenly things. She does not part with it and it does not leave her mind. Some of these heavenly things are: holiness, righteousness, love, peace, sanctification, faith... You have to desire these things for them to cross your mind. As long as we do not desire them, we will never know that they exist and therefore it is impossible to live them. However, if a supposedly Christian person (dead and resurrected in Christ) is interested in earthly things, then his conversion had not been successful. She wasn't dead in Christ; it was fainting, a passing thunderbolt with Jesus. Such a person did not enter death and therefore did not rise with Jesus. Our deep aspirations are enough to know if we are true Christians. Excellent Friday and good start into the weekend. Amen Alain Louz.-
