Theme: “Let’s be generous”
Text: Deuteronomy 26:10-11
10. Now, behold, I bring the first fruits of the ground which thou hast given me, O LORD; You shall lay them down before the LORD your God, and you shall bow down before the LORD your God. 11. Then you shall rejoice, with the Levite and with the stranger who is among you, for all the good things that the LORD your God has given to you and to your house.
Let's remember:
A generous person is one who has noble feelings that lead him to selflessness and devotion. She is a person who gives without counting. It is synonymous with indulgence, magnanimity, devoted, selfless; a person who is ready to do good; which denotes generosity.David, one of God's most generous servants, said: "Everything comes from you, and from your hand we receive what we offer you." It is a response to God’s love in his life. He knew that wealth comes from God; It’s normal for him to return it. We do not have to be generous if we understand that God is the source of every good thing in our possession. We must have the qualities that dispose us to sacrifice our personal interest. Let us have self-sacrifice, altruism. This must become our habit of bringing in the first fruits of the ground that God has given us. The fruits of our faith, the fruits of our work, the fruits of our marriage, the fruits of our commerce, the fruits of our spiritual gifts and all the fruits resulting from our behavior; everything must be brought to God in all generosity. Our humility must serve the Lord. Let us place every firstfruit before the Lord. Let us be generous towards strangers; we know that in the old sense, a foreigner does not have property and wealth in the country where he lives. The foreigner had reduced rights and therefore only lived on donations and legacies from those who welcomed him. The Levite is the servant of God who has no inheritance because God is his inheritance. It’s up to the flock to take care of them. This is why we must be generous in providing provisions for their maintenance. Have a great Monday. Amen
