Jesus teaches and practices love

Theme: “ Jesus teaches and practices love Text: Matthew 14:13-21

13. At this news, Jesus departed from there in a boat, to retire apart into a desert place; and the crowd, having heard of it, came out of the towns and followed him on foot. 14. When he came out of the boat, he saw a great crowd, and was moved with compassion for them, and he healed the sick. 15. When evening came, the disciples came to him, and said, This place is deserted, and the hour is already late; sends the crowd away to go to the villages to buy food. 16. Jesus answered them, They need not go away; feed them yourselves. 17. But they said unto him, We have here only five loaves and two fishes. 18. And he said, Bring them to me. 19. He made the crowd sit on the grass, took the five loaves and the two fish, and raising his eyes to heaven, he gave thanks. Then he broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples, who distributed them to the crowd. 20. They all ate and were satisfied, and they took away twelve baskets full of the scraps that were left. 21. Those who ate were about five thousand men, excluding women and children.

Let's remember:

When Jesus sees the human rotting under the weight of sickness, infirmities and sin; it responds by bringing healing. The love of Christ does not resist the evils that humans drag. Anyone who seeks the Lord with all his heart will have his favorable response. The thirsty and hungry crowd of divine provision follows the Son of God in order to benefit from healing but also from daily bread. This confidence moves the love of Christ, which cannot remain indifferent to the appeals of the crowd. The love of Jesus cannot tolerate sending home a hungry crowd. The love of Jesus is obligated to feed those who hope in Him before sending them away well satisfied. By his love, Jesus intervenes on the three dimensions of the person: the spirit, the soul and the flesh. He grants forgiveness of sins; proclaim the gospel and grant salvation; heals and nourishes the flesh. The love of Jesus is not partial, it covers all human indigence. Tireless love; selfless love; everlasting love. Excellent Friday and good start into the weekend. Amen Alain Louz.-
