Theme: "Jesus Christ is seated at the right hand of God to help us" Text: Mark 16:15-20

15. Then he said unto them, Go into all the world, and preach the glad tidings to all creation. 16. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17. These signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak new languages; 18. they will pick up serpents; if they drink anything deadly, it will not harm them; they will lay hands on the sick, and the sick will be healed. 19. The Lord, after speaking to them, was taken up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. 20. And they went out preaching everywhere. The Lord was working with them, and confirming the word by the signs that followed it.

Let's remember:

On this Thursday when the Church celebrates the ascension, in memory of this event which closed the physical earthly stay of our Lord Jesus Christ, we confirm the mission he left us: that of going to spread the good news. When Jesus ascended to heaven without a propellant, but in an aerodynamic confirmed by all the scholars and the various witnesses, he sat at the right hand of God. From there, he evaluates us, he observes us, he supports us, he sustains us, he blesses us, he guides us, he coordinates us but he also intercedes for us. The happiness in this mission that he gives us is that he bequeathed all his power to us so that we do not go into battle with our arms dangling. From the divine and holy heavenly seat at the right hand of God, Jesus sees how we use the power he bequeathed to us; to see our effectiveness. It reframes us when we overflow and exaggerate; especially when he notices an abuse of power or an insufficient use of it. He granted us this power to facilitate our task and to keep in touch with Him because He remains our only source of supply of this power. Sitting at the right hand of God, the Lord Jesus helps us all the more because he works with us, confirming his word by miracles. This is a privilege that belongs to us, to have a lord who works with us, although seated at the right hand of God. It was Jesus who first used the function of remote control because he controls us from a distance. Excellent Ascension Thursday. Amen Alain Louz.-
