Theme: “Helping our neighbor

Text: 2 Corinthians 8:1-5

1. We make known to you, brothers, the grace of God that has been revealed in the churches of Macedonia. 2. In the midst of much tribulation that they were tested, their overflowing joy and deep poverty produced abundant liberality on their part. 3. They gave, I testify, willingly according to their means, and even beyond their means, 4. earnestly asking us for the grace to take part in the assistance intended for the saints. 5. And not only did they contribute as we hoped, but they gave themselves first to the Lord, and then to us, by the will of God.

Let us remember:

When we offer ourselves to God to serve Him, in return, we receive the grace to depend on Him and to do His will. Offering our heart to God gives us the ability to love our neighbor and to help them. Those who give themselves with all their heart to God, forget their own interests and give priority to those of God and their neighbor. They invest their hope in God, being sure that God takes care of their needs while they take care of those who are in difficulty. There are people who share even the last thing they had left, not knowing what to do tomorrow, but they hope in the Lord. Material poverty is not a brake on not helping our neighbor. Destitution is not an obstacle that prevents us from coming to the aid of our neighbor. It is the disposition of the heart that counts the most. Money or material things do not necessarily solve people's problems. Those who lack financial means can be a great resource in advice or prayer. He can help solve a recurring problem just by giving advice. A gift of money received can be mismanaged by the beneficiary who already has a problem managing funds. Let us give what we have that could help build a life. It can be material and financial goods, telephone contacts, prayers and exhortations, job offers. We can also help our neighbor by telling him what attitude to have in any situation. Let us offer our services to those who need them. Excellent Tuesday. Amen
