Theme: “Helping our neighbor”
Text: Acts 9:31-35
31. The church had peace throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria, being edified and walking in the fear of the Lord, and it increased by the help of the Holy Spirit. 32. While Peter was visiting all the saints, he also went down to those who lived in Lydda. 33. There he found a man named Aeneas, who had been lying on a bed for eight years, paralyzed. 34. Peter said to him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you; get up and make your bed. And immediately he got up. 35. And all the inhabitants of Lydda and Sharon saw him, and they converted to the Lord.
Let us remember:
Helping our neighbor means helping someone, a group in need, providing them with material, moral, spiritual or other assistance. It also means supporting, helping someone in their activity. The basis of the gospel is to love God and our neighbor. And love pushes us to help, to provide assistance to anyone in need. Let us take care to assist our neighbor by bringing them the Good News of salvation. Let us accompany this with provisions of all kinds that can restore the joy lost due to destitution. Assisting our neighbor extends to courtesy visits. We must go and visit our loved ones who are sick at home or in hospitals. Let us also go to those who live in total isolation and without assistance. Let us go to retirement homes, to the streets, to hospitals, to families to talk about Jesus. If we find a sick person, we must provide them with our assistance in all directions. Let us not shy away from any challenge because God is the guarantor of our initiatives. When we help our neighbor, there are spectacular repercussions that can convert pagans. Let us not be insensitive to the difficulties of our neighbor. We must use humility when we provide assistance to our neighbor. Excellent Monday. Amen
