Healing of body and soul

Sunday October 23, 2022

Theme: “Healing of body and soul" Text: 1 Thessalonians 4:3-8

3. What God wants is your sanctification; it is that you abstain from fornication; 4. that each of you should know how to possess his body in holiness and honesty, 5. without yielding yourselves to passionate lust, as do the pagans who do not know God; 6. That no man use treachery and covetousness towards his brother in business, because the Lord takes vengeance on all these things, as we have already told you and attested. 7. For God has not called us to impurity, but to sanctification. 8. He therefore who rejects these precepts does not reject a man, but God, who has also given you his Holy Spirit.

Let's remember:

What can happen to a person who does not live in sanctification; who does not abstain from fornication; who does not know how to possess his body in holiness and honesty; who indulges in passionate lust; who uses fraud and greed in business? Such a person is sick in his soul but also in his body. When the soul is sick, the body suffers. The illnesses of the soul are spiritual and physical because the soul represents the human personality. Every person's life is in his soul and the soul is in the blood (Lev. 17:11). Thus, a sick soul puts the whole body in danger. Sin is a disease that harms our soul but also our whole being. In addition, sin damages our relationship with God. As if that were not enough, God takes revenge on us for dishonesty towards our neighbour. Finally, by sinning, we reject the precepts of God, we reject God, we defile our soul, we are sick… we need repentance, divine justification in order to obtain healing of body and soul. Excellent all-round healing Sunday. Amen Alain Louz.-
