Theme: “Healing of body and soul"
Text: Luke 5:17-26
17. One day Jesus was teaching. Pharisees and doctors of the law were seated there, from all the villages of Galilee, Judea and Jerusalem; and the power of the Lord was manifested in healings. 18. And behold, people, carrying a man who was paralyzed on a bed, were trying to bring him in and bring him under his gaze. 19. As they did not know where to introduce him, because of the crowd, they went up on the roof, and they lowered him by an opening, with his bed, in the middle of the assembly, in front of Jesus. 20. Seeing their faith, Jesus said: Man, your sins are forgiven you. 21. The scribes and Pharisees began to reason and say, Who is this that speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone? 22. Jesus, knowing their thoughts, answered and said to them: What thoughts have you in your hearts? 23. Which is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee, or to say, Arise, and walk? 24. Now, that you may know that the Son of Man has on earth the power to forgive sins: I command you, he said to the paralytic, get up, take up your bed, and go to your bed. home. 25. And immediately he arose in their presence, took up the bed on which he was lying, and went into his house, glorifying God. 26. All marveled, and glorified God; filled with fear, they said: We have seen strange things today.
Remember:
Wise people know that their healing and that of their friends and families is found in Jesus. They also know that access to this cure is the fruit of tireless efforts until climbing on the roof. This shows that there is no limit for anyone who wants to seek God's help. The crowd cannot prevent it, on the contrary, we circumvent it without hesitation. The person who has understood this secret, fights to find himself in front of Jesus Christ. She places her worries at the feet of Jesus who will take care of them. The whispers of our enemies are not a hindrance to our healing. Many people are not happy to see Jesus heal our body and soul. What does it matter? The main thing is to have the assurance of salvation in Jesus, to take up your bed and go home and abide in a life of sanctification.
