Theme: “Healing of body and soul"
Text: Jeremiah 17:14-17
14. Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; Save me, and I will be saved; Because you are my glory. 15. Behold, they say unto me, Where is the word of the LORD? Let it be accomplished then! 16. And I, to obey you, did not refuse to be a pastor; Nor did I desire the day of misfortune, you know that; What came out of my lips was discovered in front of you. 17. Don't be a subject of dread to me, You, my refuge in the day of calamity!
Let's remember:
This chapter speaks of the state of the hearts of Israel (Judah) and their remnant at a time when sin had abounded and the need for restoration was greater than anything. A remnant agreed to raise their heads, accepting to be the pastor to lead the people to God the good shepherd. The people were really sick with disobedience to God; God had to give them healing of body and soul. In his book "Healing of the Soul", Rob Reimer describes the process leading to healing of the soul namely: [firming one's identity, repenting, breaking family patterns of sin, forgiving others, healing from one's wounds, overcoming fears and experiencing deliverance]. Before receiving soul healing, one must first acknowledge and repent of one's sins. As long as the people continue to mock God, no healing will be possible. You have to be on God's side, let yourself be transformed by Him, totally abandon yourself and stay the course of obedience to His Word, without resistance or compromise. Thus, God will heal body and soul. The hospital can't do anything about it, only God can intervene. Excellent Monday. Amen Alain Louz.-
