Theme: “Have no fear»
Text: Isaiah 41:15-20
15. Behold, I make you a pointed sleigh, brand new, Spiked; You will crush, you will crush the mountains, And you will make the hills like chaff. 16. You will winnow them, and the wind will carry them away, And a whirlwind will scatter them. But thou shalt rejoice in the LORD, thou shalt put thy glory in the Holy One of Israel. 17. The poor and destitute look for water, and there is none; Their tongues are parched with thirst. I, the Lord, will hear them; I, the God of Israel, will not abandon them. 18. I will cause rivers to spring up on the hills, and springs in the midst of the valleys; I will turn the desert into a pond, And the arid land into streams of water; 19. I will put in the desert the cedar, the acacia, the myrtle and the olive tree; I will put in the barren places The cypress, the elm and the boxwood, all together; 20. That they may see, and know, observe, and consider, That the hand of the LORD hath done these things, That the Holy One of Israel is their doer.
Remember:
The sons of Korah had understood one thing which turns out to be crucial: [Why do you fall down, my soul, and groan within me? Hope in God, for I will praise him again; He is my salvation and my God] Psalms 42:6. Yes! When all goes wrong, and against all odds; hope in the Lord. God is the provider of joy and life. It is He who takes away reproach and brings into existence that which does not exist. He is the guarantor and the only giver of success and salvation. If our eyes see an impassable wall, our faith sees a flattened valley because nothing can league against a child who is under the guidance of his God. It is God who takes charge of our battles; He leads them and manhandles our enemies; whatever their number. He makes us wear victory like a garment woven around our waists. The only thing that is asked of us: to sigh after Him, to love Him, to obey Him and to leave Him the throne of our heart so that He may reign there. That's when the world will call us nasty names because it won't understand where our victories come from. Let's be without fear, our fights are already won by God; victory is in his hands; let us wait for Him to come and proclaim our triumph. Excellent Friday and good start into the weekend. Amen Alain Louz.-
