Growth in faith

Thursday January 19, 2023

Theme: “Growth in faith Text: Romans 14:1-4

1. Welcome those who are weak in faith, and do not argue over opinions. 2. One thinks he can eat everything: another, who is weak, only eats vegetables. 3. He who eats should not despise him who does not eat, and he who does not eat should not judge him who eats, for God has received him. 4. Who are you who judge another's servant? Whether he stands or falls is up to his master. But he will stand, for the Lord has power to establish him.

Let's remember:

For growth in faith, we must avoid dwelling on the small details of eating, drinking, clothing, in short, all that is only artifice and external decoration of life. It is also not allowed to discuss genealogies, preferential choices relating to people; it is rather necessary to go to the essential by focusing on salvation. This kind of debate is a brake on growth in faith. Far from helping people to evolve, it demotes them or creates stagnation. We know that some of us do not have stable faith, others are people of little faith; depending on whether we are strong or weak, let us help our neighbor to advance in faith. Any backslidden attitude should not be named or encouraged among us. He who eats this food should not despise the one who does not eat it, and he who does not eat this other food should not judge the one who eats it, for God loves both. Let us be good dispensers of divine graces; people who accompany others towards spiritual ascent. Let's not be those who help others to get lost, but let's be those who have the faith to save their souls and those of others. Excellent Thursday. Amen Alain Louz.-
