Theme: "Greed and its consequences in the life of a citizen" Text: 1 Timothy 6:7-11
7. for we have brought nothing into the world, and it is evident that we cannot take anything out; 8. If therefore we have food and clothing, that will be enough for us. 9. But those who want to get rich fall into temptation, into the snare, and into many senseless and pernicious desires which plunge men into ruin and perdition. 10. For the love of money is a root of all evil; and some, being possessed, have strayed from the faith, and thrown themselves into much torment. 11. For you, man of God, shun these things, and seek righteousness, piety, faith, charity, patience, meekness.
Let's remember:
The love of money leads to greed. We must not love money more than anything. If it is true that with money one can afford a better life, it is just as true that one can have money without having the opportunity to use it if a debilitating illness takes its toll. mixes. In life, it is not the love of money that should take precedence but the love for God should possess us. At death, all the heritage remains and changes ownership. We would have chased after money for nothing, greed would only have served to enrich others who could mismanage it. We will take nothing to our grave; however our works will follow us until the day of judgment. If we do not have good ones, they will be against us. This is why we must abandon greed and seek justice, piety, faith, charity, patience, meekness. To run after money and riches is to fall into the trap of foolish and pernicious desires which cause ruin and perdition. Let us make the effort to be modestly content with what we find. God's grace is enough for us. Do not run after riches because it is a big trap that always closes on the person concerned. There is no reason to be greedy, nothing can explain it except lust and greed. Let's save ourselves from this generation in search of fashion and digital and which is very demanding in terms of material and therefore financial resources.
