Theme: “God with us»
Text: Psalms 125:1-5
1. Those who trust in the Lord Are like Mount Zion: it does not totter, it is established forever. 2. Mountains surround Jerusalem; Thus the Lord surrounds his people, From now on and forever. 3. For the scepter of wickedness shall not remain upon the lot of the righteous, That the righteous shall not stretch out their hands to iniquity. 4. Eternal, pour out your blessings on the good And on the upright in heart! 5. But those who go out of ways, may the LORD destroy them together with those who do evil! Peace be upon Israel!
Remember:
God with us means all-round confidence and assurance. We sleep with clenched fists, happy to know that our God constantly watches over our life and that of our family. God in us; we become like Mount Zion: it does not totter, it is established forever. To be like the holy mountain of Zion involves a very great balance. Winds, waters, wars, tumults and the like; nothing can move a mountain. God makes our feet firm so we can't stumble any more. We are like Jerusalem the holy city surrounded by mountains that prevent its enemies from easily reaching it without climbing these mountains. Likewise, God with us; it shows that nothing and no one can destroy us without first defeating our God. However, no creature can defeat the Almighty Yahweh. Thus the Eternal surrounds his people, now and forever so that no situation takes precedence over his people. This is why the scepter of wickedness will not remain on the lot of the righteous. Let us distance ourselves from sin so as not to lose the esteem of our loving God. Excellent Saturday. Amen
