God will provide

Friday 23 July 2021

Theme : " God will provide " Text : Genesis 22: 1-8

1. After these things God put Abraham to the test, and said to him, Abraham! And he answered: Here I am! 2. God said: Take your son, your only son, the one you love, Isaac; go into the land of Moriah, and offer it there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains that I will tell you about. 3. Abraham got up early in the morning, saddled his donkey, and took with him two servants and his son Isaac. He split wood for the burnt offering, and set out to go to the place God had told him to. 4. On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the place from afar. 5. And Abraham said to his servants, Stay here with the ass; I and the young man will go that far to worship, and we will come back to you. 6. Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering, loaded it on his son Isaac, and carried the fire and the knife in his hand. And they both walked together. 7. Then Isaac, speaking to Abraham his father, said, My father! And he said, Here am I, my son! Isaac said, Here are the fire and the wood; but where is the lamb for the burnt offering? 8. Abraham answered, My son, God will provide himself the lamb for the burnt offering. And they both walked together.

Let us remember :

Abraham answered about the burnt offering: God will provide for himself. This answer was true while in giving it his intention was not to traumatize Isaac. And so Isaac had learned the teaching that God provides for himself when we lack something. God our Father by wanting to save the world provided himself by finding in himself the sacrificial lamb that He came to sacrifice on the cross of Golgotha so that the world might be saved. If Abraham could not sacrifice Isaac because God had prevented him, however God; succeeded in sacrificing his only Son for the sake of humanity. We will remember that the sacrifice to be offered to God can never fail because God provides for himself. We are the sacrifice; we offer each day to God. Excellent Friday and good entry into the weekend. Amen Alain Louz.-
