Theme: "God's love and forgiveness".
Text: Colossians 3:12-14
12. Therefore, as those chosen by God, holy and beloved, put on compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience. 13. Bear with one another and forgive one another, if any of you has a complaint against another. Just as Christ forgave you, so you also must forgive. 14. But above all these things, put on charity, which is the bond of perfection.
Let us remember:
The divisions observed among Christians are justified by a great lack of love and patience. We do not have the capacity to accept the weakness of our neighbor. We are missing the bond of perfection that must connect all those who believe in Jesus as their personal Lord but also their common Lord. Patience is the ability to wait, or to continue to love our neighbor despite his misconduct towards us. It is also the ability to suffer without complaining or getting upset even when nothing goes as we would have liked. Since we are God's chosen ones, let us clothe ourselves with bowels of mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience. Instead of having an empty inner body like an empty shell or a drum, let us fill our inner life with holy bowels like mercy, kindness, faithfulness, humility, gentleness, patience. All these things put together will create a bond around love: the bond of perfection. Let us align our life with sincere love, thus we will clothe ourselves with the bond of perfection. Forgiveness is included in love because he who does not have love cannot understand the meaning of forgiveness. Let us bear with one another, and, not complain about our neighbor but forgive one another, as Christ has forgiven us. Excellent Sunday. Amen.
