Theme: "God's love and forgiveness."
Text: Luke 7:47
47. Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, have been forgiven, for she loved much. But he who is forgiven little, loves little.
Let us remember:
This is a sinful woman who brought an alabaster jar of perfume and stood behind it at Jesus' feet. She wept over her sins; and she wet his feet with her tears, then wiped them with her hair, kissed them, and anointed them with perfume. This is worship associated with supplication from a person who recognizes her faults. She is in the right place at the right time. She knows that without Jesus' intervention, her sins will never be forgiven. She allows herself to literally pour out her heart before the divine majesty, hoping to receive his attention but also his forgiveness. She hides nothing of her life, on the contrary she exposes herself because before Jesus, everything is naked and exposed. She wants to change her life and takes advantage of the presence of the King of kings to seize the opportunity to be transformed by the renewal of intelligence. She did it with such an open heart that she touched the sensitivity of Jesus. Jesus' response is final; her many sins have been forgiven: because she loved much. Indeed, this woman loved the Lord very much, she also loves her own life and does not want to lose it. But she hates her sinful life that she exposes it before the holiness of Jesus in order to obtain absolution, remission, forgiveness and the dissolution of all sins. Forgiveness is a process that combines love and the desire to change without forgetting the hope based on the Lord who forgives; all while adoring Him. Excellent Thursday. Amen
