God's Blessings to His People

Sunday August 27, 2023

Theme: "God's Blessings to His People" Text: Revelation 3:19-21

19. I rebuke and chasten all those I love. So be zealous, and repent. 20. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him, I will sup with him, and he with me. 21. Whoever overcomes, I will cause to sit with me on my throne, as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne.

Let's remember:

This is the challenge that every faithful must take up. We have an obligation to hold fast to our commitment to serve God to the end. The bad weather and the estrangements of this century should not disturb this surge of faith and perseverance. Know that the Lord God will come to chasten us and straighten us out every time we fall into sin. Let's not take it as a mark of wickedness to our God; on the contrary, it is out of love that God corrects and chastises us. The recourse to the chicote does not mean that God forsakes us; it is for us to repent and do good works. However, God has only wonderful plans of blessings for his people. These blessings would take their ease better when we would have repented of the evil that characterizes us. It is for this that the Lord God always drags before the door of every life; he is before the door of every heart; knocking and waiting for us to open for him to come in and dine with us. As long as we deny our hearts access to God, we will not experience the blessings that God has planned for us His people. And yet the Lord can make a forced intrusion to gain our lives as he did to Paul; but God prefers that each faithful be free to welcome him. Do violence to ourselves so that we are among the recipients of the blessings. Let us not aggravate our case by remaining insensitive to the voice of God. Let us meet him and do his will so that we take our place beside him in the kingdom of God as it is written: He who overcomes, I will make him sit with me on my throne. The best blessing not to be missed is to live in eternity with God. Excellent Sunday. Amen. Alain Louz.-
