Theme: "God's Blessings to His People" Text: Psalms 126:1-6
1. Canticle of degrees. When the Lord brought back the captives of Zion, We were like those who dream. 2. Then our mouth was filled with shouts of joy, And our tongue with songs of joy; Then they said among the nations, The Lord has done great things for them! 3. The Lord has done great things for us; We are in joy. 4. Lord, bring back our captives, Like streams in the south! 5. Those who sow with tears Will reap with songs of joy. 6. He who walks weeping, when he bears the seed, Returns with gladness, when he bears his sheaves.
Let's remember:
Darkness will not always reign in our lives since the Lord God has a plan of blessing for us his people. The people who had suffered for decades had their suffering cut short by Cyrus the savior king (who is a type of Christ according to Isaiah in chapters 44 and 45). The Lord has a strong hold on our lives even in times of captivity, reaching out to His love and mercy to help us. The blessing of God has no limit; it can reach us wherever we may be. Misfortune or captivity should not resign us to fate as if God has no program of blessing for his people. The Lord Jesus Christ also had sown in tears in Jerusalem (Luke 19:41), then in Isaiah 65 we can read in verse 18 "Rather rejoice and be glad forever because of what I create, for I am creating Jerusalem to be a joy, and her people to be a joy: 19 I will make Jerusalem my joy, and my people my joy. tears or cries of distress". It is like in a dream, we pass from captivity to deliverance in accordance with the plan of blessing formulated by God for us. Let us rejoice that we have such a God and let us rejoice in praise for our God is the source of our blessings. If our captivity is poverty, unemployment, fear, sin, in short all sorts of difficulties; let us continue to pray, to sow with tears because we will reap with songs of joy. For a time, let us walk crying without casting our seed, we will return in joy, with our sheaves in hand, God will always bless us. Excellent Saturday. Amen Alain Louz.-
