Let's remember:

Our biblical text begins with a prayer verse that serves as a formula of blessing. Far from being a simple formula, it is a prayer loaded with blessing. She relies on the mercy of God to install blessing and make her face shine on us. Psalm 67 is short but the content of its blessing is great. One does not need several pages to understand the blessings of God for his people. The profound message of this psalm is that the blessings of God make us visible to the world. The nations or the pagans will see that we are blessed and will opt for this God who blesses. The psalmist shows us that the blessing of God draws the gaze of the world to the blessed person. If God shines his face on a person, the person also becomes shining. It will begin to sparkle even in the dark, and will be a light source capable of illuminating its surroundings. When the blessing of God makes the face of his people shine, the people become like a city placed on the mountain, it is seen from afar, by the surrounding peoples. When God blesses us, it drives the pagan crowds to conversion. It is this miracle that Jesus performed on the cross. To be crucified is the object of humiliation, but when Jesus was lifted up on the cross, he was rather glorified and caught the eye of all mankind, showing that salvation is at the cross. Each people was able to come and obtain salvation from Jesus Christ, the glorified crucifier. The blessing of God raises the people on the top of the mountains to attract the eyes of the heathen so that they hasten to the salvation distilled by the blessed people of God. Excellent Wednesday.
